Choosing one winner for European Photographer of the Year was a challenging task. There were many names that we debated having seen a photographers and videographers across News, Sport and Entertainment take a number of category wins. The entrant that stood out for their incredible work across a number of categories, within stills and video is Christopher Furlong.
Take the time to look through each category and you will see that Chris has taken first place in News Photographer of the Year, News Picture of the Year, Feature of the Year, and News Videographer of the Year. With compassion and creativity Chris has produced an outstanding body of work in stills and video, bringing us closer to the stories of our time in a year when News has dominated all of our lives.
Judging the 2020 European Editorial Awards has been an absolute pleasure and while we applaud the winners, we certainly celebrate all the entrants. The quality of work submitted was nothing short of outstanding. When you consider the impact of Covid to Editorial that is an incredible achievement, and testament to the strength of our photographers, videographers, assignment editors, producers, field editors and picture desks. It truly is a team effort across all of Editorial.
Bringing the awards online gave us the opportunity to include our global VP’s and DOP’s for the judging process.
