Moreover, photographs are often used as evidence towards this understanding however we live today in a world where that evidence is under constant questioning, attack even and therefore the value of quality, timely and accurate photojournalism has never been greater. The winner of the Getty Images European Photographer of the Year for 2022 played a vital role throughout the past 12 months in delivering this value to our customers through his outstanding work in Ukraine. He provided the world with vital journalism, creativity and expert witness in a highly dangerous environment and I think there is little doubt, for these reasons, that our European Photographer of the Year for 2022 is Chris McGrath”
