Global Videographer of the Year

Alex Wong

2024 was certainly a busy news year, and Alex played a crucial role in evolving the news team’s coverage. He was tasked with focusing on video, especially during the U.S. presidential elections. Alex worked tirelessly on his photos as a core member of the news team while also strategizing and capturing our daily video needs. Throughout the year, he not only developed and honed his filming skills by learning new equipment but also embraced editing his own video work. Taking advice and feedback to heart, he produced these clips, which highlight the daily grind in Washington, D.C.—from early moments in the campaign season with Trump and Melania to covering demonstrations in the Capitol for a ceasefire, the Israel-Hamas war, the Naval Academy plebe year climb, and Marine One departing from the South Lawn of the White House.
